Seating and sculptural installation for Isle of Harty cycle trail, Isle of Sheppey, N.Kent. Part of the 'Resting Points' sculptural commission.
Form work carved in oak wood with textural overlay inscription. Base leg sections in curvilinear cast concrete. Stainless steel fittings. The seating piece designed to engage with the sense of flight - echoing the bird life that can be seen from this location, at the RSPB nature reserve - Capel Fleet. The dish hollow carved seating bases emulating the forms of feathers and wings whilst the uprights in sculpted semi aero foil section with textural encounter that also alludes to the history of the region as one of the first test areas of manned flight.
