Parkfield Primary School - Sculptural Installation.

Here are some images of the latest exterior installation for Parkfield Primary school, Barnet, North London. This forms part of the nursery/reception play area. Once again a combination of oak and stainless steel mounted on to pre set cast setting blocks. (see also Underhill & Hyde) The sinks are interesting! They have as yet to be set into the ground. You can probably see in the images that they are still finishing off the main playground for this latestnew build school!

Setting fire to things can also be creative! Charring the inner curve board ends to give more definition to this line form within the table. You can also see the tapered parasol plug before fitting into the table top.

You can see the use of the full size templates once again to set out the final location of the Sail tables on the terrace. 'Draw bore' pegged beam oak frame work supporting the prime 1/4 sawn boards used in the table top. All of the stainless steel tube connectors and mounting hard wear is 316/a4 marine grade for the of coastal location weathering.

We enjoyed a very pleasant impromptu BBQ in the evening to christen the new Sail tables.

We even had a little helper - Peter,  who came along just at the right time to play the shapes game with the end caps.

You can just make out the stainless steel shim plates on top of the cast blocks as the seating board unit is set onto the bases.
